And shine they did! Last year the Down Syndrome of Southern Nevada put on a prom for all the people with Down syndrome, this year it was bigger and better as several organizations came together to support all people with developmental disabilities. They started off by meeting at the DSOSN office to be driven to the M resort and casino in limos. Once they arrived at the casino the were greeted by their escorts and ushered from station to station. The guys checked in then got their shoes shined by some of the UNLV Rebels football team, then off to get their boutonnieres, once they had them on they proceed to get their picture taken. They chose who they wanted their pictures taken with, their escorts, UNLV football player, UNLV cheerleader or their date or friend. Since Kevin didn't take a date to this event he chose a football player, oh yeah. For those of you who are wondering the girls did everything the guys did except instead of a shoe shining they got their hair and make up done. Once that was all done they went on to the red carpet and what a thrill that was for everyone!!!! First they are interviewed and asked questions about what they like what designer they are wearing etc., then they are announced and down the red carpet they go to great all their adoring fans and of course the paparazzi. Kevin stopped to sign several autographs and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. After that they are greeted by Las Vegas show girls, then it is off to have some dinner and dance the night away. They had a parents room set up with snacks and a place where you could watch your child have a great time without them ever knowing you were watching however, they were in such great hand that Sarah's mom Cindy, and I went to have our own dinner and do a wee bit of gambling. What an awesome evening for everyone.Kevin with his friends Tina, Sabrina and Sarah
