Not Well Here Either Nicole

We just got back from Kevin's LLD classes. He is not feeling well, not that he is sick he just feels crummy from all of his nose bleeds. He hasn't had one now for about 24 hours. I'm hoping that this is the end of them for him! Look what they have done to his poor face. It's chapped under the nose and also on the chin! After we got home I headed to the tub, hoping that a hot soak would help clear out the sinuses. It did for about 5 minutes!!! Calvin is watching the races and cooking dinner, I'm hoping for an early bedtime to "sleep" this off. We'll see if Kevin will leave me alone. Then of course I'm feeling a little down because my daugther won't play her move in Lexolous!

Meeting Mayor Oscar Goodman

Yesterday the Life Long Dream students had the opportunity to meet the mayor of Las Vegas.

One of the parents, Lisette, wrote a letter to Mayor Goodman after President Obama's latest comments about our city. He was so impressed with Lisette's letter that he invited LLD to come and visit.
What a gracious man. He was so genuine and truly happy to meet everyone. We felt so welcome in his office.
Look at that chair he sits in! Everything in his office was amazing along with the stories he share with us about all the people he has met over the years. He shared with the students some of his favorite likes, music, sports and shows on TV.

Telling one of his many stories.A picture with the happiest mayor in the universe!
A group shot.
The mayor gave everyone one of his "gaming chips" ! Kevin is a lot happier about it than he looks. He has been having some nose bleeds since his high flying stunt and we had just finished cleaning him up.
I would just like to say a big thank you Mayor Goodman and everyone in his office!
We felt very welcomed and had a fantastic time.
I would also like to say that every one we passed in the building were as friendly as could be. We were greeted with hello, how are you, can I help you, by everyone we passed.

Snow Balls and More

Well, I loaded up the pictures wrong and blogger doesn't want me to change it. So here I go with random thoughts. This is Kevin on the way down the mountain. Do you think he's worn out?Love, love, love this picture. The view is awesome. Look at those two just having fun and being goofy with each other. I love it when friends get together and just enjoy each moment.
In side the Mt. Charleston Lodge. Little did we know what a shocker our bill would be! A warning to all who think they'll just grab a bite up there, pack a lunch and then thank us! You've just saved yourself a bundle.

Love the views.
Kevin believing it is only a true snow day if you are cold through and through!
Taking aim!!

Throwing at the person taking pictures. Looking for the best snow for those snowballs.
I think Kevin is telling Lisette were to hit him at!!!!!
The day was so much fun. Did I mention that before?
Thanks guys, it wouldn't have been as much fun without you.

Kevin Flying High

Here is our happy young man right before he "tried" the ramp I don't believe Kevin went over the ramp on purpose. The ramp was shown to our sledders on their very first time on the hill. They were told they probably wouldn't want to go over it, and they did not go over all afternoon.
Here Kevin is starting down the hill. He's a little sideways and bout this time I hear Lisette yell, he's going toward the ramp! My reply? OK I'll get the photo! Some how I don't think that is what she expected me to do.
Here he is just before the ramp. See how he is kinda leaning back with the rope in his hands? Kind of like he's on a horse and wanting it to stop. Yeah, this didn't quite work for the sled!

Next thing I know Kevin is flying through the air (not with the greatest of ease). He was flung from the sled, landed on his stomach, his head sort of bounced, he slid through the compacted snow, was a little slow in getting up, even slower in straightening up (I kept taking pictures though).

This is what it looked like when he faced me. After some rinsing out of the mouth (split the inside of his lip) and some wiping down of the scratches on his nose, Kevin, Catherine and Lisette headed back up the hill for one more ride down.
Sorry pic's are out of order and blogger won't let me fix it today. See the little red spot on the tip of his nose? He also has a small scratch going up the front of it.
Here he is with Lisette getting ready to come down again.
Here they are whooping and hollering and having a blast. Takes more than a little fling through the air to keep our Flying High Kevin down!!!
Stay tuned. Tomorrow will be the snow ball fights

Snow Day

This afternoon was so much fun. Kevin and I went with Lisette and Catherine sledding on Mt. Charleston! It was great snow pack for sleds, the sky blue and the sun beating down on us. There was a hill that needed climbing and sledding and the kids were happy to oblige.
Kevin coming down and you could hear him laughing all the way.
Kicking up some snow.

Next down was Catherine, she giggled and squealed all the way down. It is so much fun watching both of them delight with the simple things in life.

What's a little sledding without making a snow angel.
Tomorrow you will get to see some more of our day. It will be complete with photo's of Kevin trying to be the Shawn White of sleds.

Another Thumb Sucker

These are really sweet pictures of Miss Grace. She's all snuggled in sleeping soundly and sucking on that thumb! I just hope you give it up much easier than Casey did.

This Ones for you Mark

Well I've been told by someone(I'll not use names) that I've not been a very good blogger lately.
After looking at the date of my last post I'll have to agree. Here are some fond memories I have of the last time i was in Bellingham. Before we left for Bellingham I received a phone call from Casey, he wanted to know if I would take him for a hair cut while I was in town. I said sure and his mama got on the phone. It seems that in Casey mind I'm the only one that can do this properly! I guess I should stay away for awhile and see how long his hair gets.
Now a challenge to the one (not mentioning any names) let's see if we can both do better and post every day until the end of March. . . ready set go!
