Rain, Rain Go Away

Isa, on our way to Morrie's.
We walked in a down pore, unusual for Bellingham, I know.
Isa loved every mud puddle and we splashed in them all.
Stopping for a pose under some trees, also getting out of the rain for a minute.

Next meemaw showed her how to play in the leaves and she loved it.
This is what is left of her hamburger, fries and milkshake, for as tiny as she is she can sure pack the food away.

This is her digging in (the pic's are a little out of order)

Little miss, singing with meemaw, Rain, Rain Go Away.

Isa having a great time with the puddles.
All bundled up ready for the rain.

Kai

Performance Saturday

Another busy weekend with Kevin. Life Long Dreams performed at the fundraiser for Positively Kids. They did an awesome job, Kevin had a solo, It's a Grand Old Flag, unfortunately I have no pictures of that because I thought I was doing a movie and I wasn't. Next time I'll make sure I know how to use it before I go. Any ways here is Kevin and another LLD er with Phil Flowers.
Kevin in action. I believe this is there We're All in this Together number.

Here they are performing Get Your Head in the Game.

Waiting while Phil introduces them.

Life Long Dreams Rehearsal

Today was dress rehearsal for Life Long Dreams, the group is performing Masquerade, from Phantom of the Opera. It was fun for the kids to finally get to get dressed up in their costumes, also for the parents to finally see them in action! In case you can't recognize him with his mask on, it's Kevin.
The boys in action, they do such a great job, and love every minute of it. I can't wait to see them "really" perform it next week.

Here are all the girls in their dresses and mask. They look so beautiful, they had the dress donated and then some very talented moms added all kinds of stuff to make them more glamorous. You all know I was not one of these moms.
Kevin chillin' at the piano.
Here are all the guys, looking good. They are posing with Phil Flowers, he's a local entertainer who is generously helping out the group, he's absolutely awesome. I don't have a picture of Tshelene, but she is also doing a lot of work with these guys and is just as awesome. The kids are very fortunate to have them.

A Special Child

A Special Child
by Sharon Harris
You weren't like other children,
And God was well aware,
You'd need a caring family,
With love enough to share.
And so He sent you to us,
And much to our surprise,
You haven't been a challenge,
But a blessing in disguise.
Your winning smiles and laughter,
The pleasures you impart,
Far outweigh your special needs,
And melt the coldest heart.
We're proud that we've been chosen,
To help you learn and grow,
The job that you have brought us,
Is more than you can know.
A precious gift from Heaven,
A treasure from above,
A child who's taught us many things,
But most of all- "Real Love”

Like Me

"Like Me"
By: Emily Perl Kingsley
I went to my dad and said to him,
There's a new kid who's come to my school.
He's different from me and he isn't too cool.
No, he's nothing at all like me, like me,
No, he's nothing at all like me.
He runs in a funnyish jerkyish way
And he never comes first in a race
Sometimes he forgets which way is first base,
And he's nothing at all like me, like me,
No, he's nothing at all like me.
He studies all day in a separate class
And they say that it's called "Special Ed.
"And sometimes I don't understand what he's said,
And he's nothing at all like me, like me,
No, he's nothing at all like me.
His face looks kind of different from mine,
And his talking is sometimes so slow
And it makes me feel funny and there's one thing I know;
He is nothing at all like me, like me,
No, he's nothing at all like me!
And my father said, "Son, I want you to think
When you meet some one different and new
That he may seem a little bit strange, it's true,
But he's not very different from you, from you,
No, he's not very different from you,
" Well I guess, I admitted, I've looked at his face;
When he's left out of games, he feels bad.
And when other kids tease him,
I can see he's so sad.I guess that's not so different from me,
from me,No, that's not very different from me.
And when we're in Music, he sure loves to sing,
And he sings just like me, right out loud.
When he gets his report card, I can tell he feels proud,
And that's not very different from me, from me,
No, that's not very different from me.
And I know in the lunchroom he has lots of fun;
He loves hot dogs and ice cream and fries.
And he hates to eat spinach and that's not a surprise,
'Cause that's not very different from me, from me,
No, that's not very different from me.
And he's always so friendly, he always says hi,
And he waves and he calls out my name.
And he'd like to be friends and get into a game,
Which is not very different from me, from me,
No, I guess that's not different from me.
And his folks really love him.
I saw them at school,I remember on Open School Night --
They were smiling and proud and they hugged him real tight,
And that's not very different from me, from me,
No, that's not very different from me.
So I said to my dad, Hey, you know that new kid?
well, I've really been thinking a lot
.Some things are different . . . and some things are not . . .
But mostly he's really like me, like me,
Yes, my new friend's . . . a lot . . . like me.

This morning we made it to Disneyland. I think we seen everything Kevin wanted too this morning. We couldn't find him a Gaston shirt so he was a bit disappointed. We left about 2 to head over to Mrs Knott's to have a late lunch. We are now in the room "resting" then will head back for what Kev wants to do tonight.

OK I give up blogger will not load my pictures so I will try again tonight when we get back.

The Angels are in the Play Offs

Geez as if LA traffic isn't bad enough, we also had to deal with everyone trying to get into the A's stadium. We made it and have been out to dinner and are now trying to get Kevin into bed. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics tomorrow.

We're Off to See The Mouse!!

As of right now we are heading out the door!!
Hopefully we will have free internet at the hotel so we can post pic's.
If not you'll have to wait until Monday. Have a great weekend, I know Kevin will!!!
