Another Day in Ontario

We started out our day with Laurie by seeing the houses were Calvin grew up and their grandparents house. Then we are off to Petrollia to look around. Here is a statue that looked like it needed a photo taken with some cute kids.Another picture this time with oil towers.
Isn't this sweet? Isa taking time to stop and smell some pretty pink flowers.

Look, aren't they pretty? Such a girly girl, don't ya think?
Auntie Laurie and the kids at the Oil Museum. Doesn't Isa look comfy, getting packed around. No walking for this princess, no sirree!
Oh, did I mention we were at an Oil Museum? Also that Isa is a girly girl, she would never and I do mean never, put her lovely little princess hands in said oil. Would she? Look at the look on her face! Here mama is having fun, trying to keep all the oil off of her princesses sweatshirt.
Finally, getting the hand cleaned up. Whew, now she can go back to being the princess we all know her to be.

The Oil Museum was very interesting. We saw a movie when we first got there, it exited through a museum of old oil type stuff (imagine that). Old cans that were used, equipment and everything else you can imagine that would have been used in manufacturing oil. Then they had an area outside to see the way the oil rigs worked (remember Isa's hands). They had old trains and such. Everyone had a great day! We ended it with a BBQ at Fred and Laurie's house, Actually it's an old schoolhouse that has been turned into a house. Fred did an awesome job grilling for us, the food was great. I'll post some pictures of them at their house later, as my camera battery died and I have to go steal them from Nicole's folder. Thanks for showing us a great time Laurie! Maybe we can do it again sometime.

Kevin's First Brew

Yes, while we were in Sarnia Kevin had his first beer. Now before everyone jumps down my throat, the legal age in ON for drinking is 19. Since we didn't go for the brew until July 5, 2009 he was of legal age there. Also before you all go thinking we forced his first drink on him just because he was old enough, think again!! This young man has wanted a beer ever since watching Beauty and the Beast. You see Gaston is his idol and Gaston drinks beer in the movie, so of course Kevin wanted to be just like him. I do not however think I have a drinker on our hands because he didn't seem to like it much and asked for a Coke a Cola before he was finished with the beer. If you ask him if he wants a beer though he will always say yes. Funny boy.
Although Auntie Laurie and Uncle Fred were there with us, they seem to have avoided the camera. They were gracious enough to loan us Fred's car during out visit, as it didn't occur to us until Mark had arrived that our van only seats seven, Mark made eight!! So they drove in and left the car for us. They also treated us to dinner at the pub where Kevin had his first drink. Hey, that means they bought Kevin his first drink, so if you are going to jump down anyone's throat let it be theirs.
The top picture is him and his daddy having a toast. Then on the side is a picture of everyone getting a picture of Kev's first drink. After we were done with dinner we headed over to a near by playground. Again the kids loved every opportunity to run and have fun. I think they figured out if it took us a long car ride to get there another long car ride would eventually happen again.

And more of my favorite kiddo's.
More coming later. All about our visit to the Oil Museum.
